The earth's atmosphere shields us from harmful UVC and most of UVB radiation. However some equipment can generate concentrated UV radiation in all the spectral regions, which if used with out the appropriate shielding and personal protective equipment can cause serious injury. Because Ultraviolet light is not visible there is no way to know the level of exposure until it has caused a health effect. Applications for UV Hazard precautions include any environment where UV light is being generated. Measure Ultraviolet exposure over an extended period of time using the 6D Ultraviolet Safety Meter. Or use the PMA2100 with the PMA2120 detector. Use these hand-held laboratory and industrial grade instrument to measure the UV radiation hazard to eyes and skin.
