Plastics, Paints & Coatings Testing Solar Simulator -
Model 16S 150 and 300 watt Systems

The 16S Solar Simulator is a turn key fade testing light source for plastics and vinyl's testing. The single output of the 16S Solar Simulator produces solar UV radiation in the range of 290 to 400 nm or full spectrum sunlight. It can output 1 years worth of UV in only 24 hours providing rapid aging results.

> Optional Dose Control System for monitoring and controlling the amount of simulated sunlight.
> UV and Air Mass 0, 1.5 spectra available

Description:

The 16S Solar Simulator accurately replicates the suns UV and meets the latest standards for light sources by ASTM. Many of the ASTM standards requiring the G151 or G155 standard can be accomplished with the 16S Solar Simulator.

By eliminating the visible and infrared light from its output, UV levels 20-30 times stronger than tropical sun can be produced without the thermal component associated with these high levels light.

Service and Warranty:

Solar Light provides free telephone technical support for the life of our products. We also provide a 1 year Standard Warranty on all of our products covering parts and labor.
> Extended Warranty Plans are also available.

Applications:

  • Plastic fade testing
  • Plastic brittleness testing
  • Photostability testing
  • Vinyl fade testing
  • Textile fade testing

Optional Equipment:

> Dose Control System - The Dose Control System is an integral part of conducting precision UV exposure testing. The Dose Control System allows the monitoring and controlling of the output of the 16S. It cumulates the amount of UV being outputted and automatically closes a shutter stopping the UV exposure when a preset dose of UV has been reached.

Typical Maintenance:

  • Xenon arc lamps need to be replaced after 800 hours of use or once lamp begins to gray.
  • Lamp alignment should be checked annually by dealer or Solar Light Technician.
