The peak intensity of a flash is much higher than a continuous source. The PMA2115 UVA flash detector captures the peak intensity and displays it on the PMA2100 for a period of 5 seconds. In addition to the peak intensity, the PMA2115 also integrates and holds the dose of a single pulse.
The peak intensity of the radiation is measured in mW/cm2 or W/cm2. When used with the model PMA2100 meter UVA measurements can be made with a full scale of 600 W/cm2 at a 1 mW/cm2 resolution. The dose has a full scale of 600 J/cm2 with a resolution of 1 mJ/cm2. The PMA2115 can measure pulses with a width of 0.1ms to 1s.
The photodetector has an active area of 0.474 inches
The Teflon hemisphere results in the UVA detector having an exceptionally good cosine response. This response allows accurate measurement of both point and extended light sources.
